Lameness From Capsulitis Synovitis At Fetlock Joint
Dr. Reza: "This horse has had chronic fetlock trouble. Obviously, its right fetlock is swollen. He's probably having capsulitis synovitis. We were deciding to medicate this joint with platelet rich plasma which was supposed to have started yesterday. But when he walked in so lame and the joint was so inflamed like this, we decided to hold on with it. But what we can do now is just having him trot up and see how lame he is."

Assessment Of Inflammation Before VET Sonotron Treatment
Thermo-Camera Imaging & Digital Palpation Were Used For The Evaluation
Dr. Reza: "What we will do is we'll put the thermocam on. He might be radiating some contrasting amounts of heat on that area compared to the rest and then once we do the treatment with the Sonotron, we can get another picture.
We'll like to just quantify his response after treatment by the digital palpation of that region. And, of course, with the camera, we'll see if that area has reduced amounts of inflammation."

Assessment Of Inflammation After VET Sonotron Treatment
Digital Palpation & Thermo-Camera Imaging Were Used For The Post Treatment Evaluation
Dr. Reza: "So, the digital response is much less acute as compared to just now. I'm pressing quite hard in the area where we were concentrating the Sonotron.
This is the scan post treatment. What is apparent here; the area of inflammation has become more focal to this point as compared to this... And, it's less inflamed. It's quite obvious."

Bad SDF Tendon Tear With 25% Core Lesion
Dr. Shri: "This particular horse actually sustained a very bad tendon injury even in the preliminary stages of training. When we actually scanned the particular tendon, he had nearly 25% core lesion of the tendon. So, what we did was we actually did a tendon stab surgery just to make sure that we decompressed the lesion.
He had a very big area of tear. Usually what happens is that if the tear is on the side, it heals more poorly compared to having a lesion in the center. And, this particular horse has developed a lesion at the side."

Ultrasound Examination Of SDF Tendon Tissues For Internally Healed Cells After 6 Days
The Ultrasound Scans From Before and After 6 VET Sonotron Treatments Were Compared
Dr. Shri: "So, looking at it, for the one week of treatment, it has actually improved tremendously. You can see how big the hole. It's darker, more intensified compared to today. This whole area was black on the 23rd. See - all closing up. You can see the difference.
So, the ultrasound scan, side by side, shows a lot of improvement in tissue healing within 7 days."

How Were The SDF Tendon Tissues 35 Days Later Without Additional VET Sonotron Treatments After The 6 Sessions?
An Evaluation Was Made With A New Ultrasound Scan 35 Days After The 6th Treatment Session
Dr. Shri: "This is the whole length of the tendon from 10cm right up to 20cm. On the longitudinal scan it actually shows you the fibres are not too bad. It is actually healing quite well. Most of the fibres look homogenous. So they are actually mimicking to a certain extent normal collagen type 1 tissues. So, it looks pretty good. And, we are using the same scan (machine), we are using the same operator who is doing the scan, and take a look and see the difference today. In my opinion it is actually healing pretty well."

Laceration Of 3 Weeks On SDF Tendon
Dr. Shri: "This particular horse actually sustained a laceration over the tendon. And, the thing is while the farrier was shoeing the horse, the horse played up and the nail just slit the skin.
Whatever you see now is actually excessive granulation tissue on the skin.
This particular probem - at least 3 weeks."

Assessment Of Healing For External Wound On SDF Tendon After 3 Treatment Sessions 9 Days Later
Visual Comparison Of The Wound, Before And After 3 Treatment Sessions
Dr. Shri: "In fact the wound is actually healing very, very well. From the first day, I have seen the wound been just shrinking down. And, the thing is there is no extra proud flesh. That's what we want. The wound looks very, very healthy. And, I think the Sonotron is playing a very important role here to just increase the blood circulation and to reduce the amount of free radicals in order to expedite the whole healing process."
